Biography
One of the club’s new recruits for the 2018-19 season, Spiranovic is a vastly-experienced and well-travelled central defender.
Originally from Geelong in Victoria, he rose to prominence with German club FC Nurnberg before moving to Japan to join Urawa Red Diamonds.
His next port of call was Qatar where he played for Al-Arabi and then in 2013, he returned to Australia to link up with the newly-formed Western Sydney Wanderers.
He duly helped them become the first Australian club to win the AFC Champions League and also played in two Hyundai A-League Grand Finals ahead of a switch to Chinese side Hangzhou Greentown in 2015.
At international level, meanwhile, the 30-year-old has won 35 caps for the Socceroos and was a key part of the side that lifted the Asian Cup in 2015.
