Designed to fit between the Glory Development Centre (GDC) and the National Premier League (NPL) pathway, the 2021/22 program is for players born in 2011 who are selected via the club’s talent identification sessions.

Pre-Academy Manager Gavin Brown explains what the program is all about

It will be delivered by a group of highly-accredited coaches who have been specially selected for their expertise in working with players from this age group.

The key focus of the Pre-Academy program is the technical development of the players and improving their mentality and game understanding as part of easing their transition into playing 11-a-side football on a full-sized pitch.

Players enrolled in the program will remain with their existing clubs, with the Pre-Academy sessions designed to supplement rather than replace their club training.

From January until September, Pre-Academy players will attend two sessions per week and also participate in a three-day camp during January in which they will have access to Perth Glory’s elite football facilities and senior coaching staff.

They will also receive two full sets of training kit, plus a full Perth Glory Junior Membership for the 2021/22 Season.

Dates for the next Talent Identification Sessions will be confirmed in November 2021.
