Youngsters targeting double-header delight

Glory’s Youth Team have travelled to Victoria for the second time in as many weeks seeking to secure their first win of the Foxtel Youth League campaign at the expense of Melbourne Victory.

Richard Garcia’s men will take on the navy-and-whites at AAMI Park on Friday as a curtain-raiser for Glory’s Hyundai A-League Round 8 showdown with the same opponents (FYL kick-off at 1.30pm local time).

The youngsters were involved in a thriller last time out, coming back from 6-3 down to earn a point in a remarkable 6-6 draw with Melbourne City at CB Smith Reserve.

They will be up against a Victory side that has produced two very contrasting results in its opening games of the campaign, crashing 7-0 to Brisbane Roar in Round One before bouncing back to win 1-0 at Adelaide last weekend.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended in a 1-1 draw, with Trent Ostler finding the net for the visitors and the Joeys winger will be out to repeat that feat on Friday having opened his account for the new FYL campaign in the 6-6 draw with Melbourne City.
