Yet more Glory for Super Sam!

The honours just keep coming for our very own Sam Kerr who took out the Women’s Health Sportswoman of the Year award overnight.

And the 24-year-old also claimed a share of another award as the Matildas were named Team of the Year.

After leading Glory to the Westfield W-League Grand Final last term, Kerr proceeded to enjoy a stellar season with her US club Sky Blue FC, clinching the National Women’s Soccer League Golden Boot with a record-breaking 17 goals and becoming the competition’s all-time top goalscorer in the process.

On top of that, the Fremantle local became the first player in the league’s history to score two hat-tricks in one season and four goals in one game and unsurprisingly, those remarkable feats saw her named Sky Blue FC’s MVP and earn a place in the NWSL Best XI.

And she took that sensational domestic form onto the international stage, starring for the Matildas as they romped to a hugely-impressive victory in the Tournament of Nations earlier this year, securing a first ever win over the USA along the way.

Kerr bagged four goals during the tournament, three of which came in a spectacular 4-2 win over Japan and she also found the net in each of the Matildas’ games against Brazil last month.

But by her own admission, the livewire striker has unfinished business here in Australia and that unfinished business involves securing a maiden Westfield W-League title with her hometown club.

She’ll be leading from the front when Glory start their new season under the lights at nib Stadium on Friday 27th October, so if you want to see arguably the best female striker in the world live and unfiltered, book your ticket here: http://bit.ly/2ySHpQy

And don’t forget, W-League memberships are available for the bargain price of just $50!
