Perth Glory has begun the long journey to Wellington for Saturday-s clash against the Phoenix with a 16 man squad travelling to New Zealand.

The team left Perth domestic airport at 9.15am and won-t arrive in New Zealand until after midnight.

The taxing trip will see the team fly via Brisbane because new flights needed to be booked after the Wednesday-s game with Sydney FC was postponed because of the electrical storm in Perth.

That match with Sydney FC has now been rescheduled for January 18, 2012, again at Campbelltown Stadium. Kick-off will be 2.3pm Perth time.

The squad will train once in Wellington before the rivalry with the ‘nix- continues at NOON on Saturday.

The versatile Steve Pantelidis has been introduced into the squad after returning to full fitness after an Achilles injury.

Pantelidis, a championship player with Melbourne Victory in 200 can play either in defence or midfield. He has played more than 100 Hyundai A-League games and featured in three finals campaigns. It-s his first time this season Pantelidis has been named in the 16 man squad.

Exciting winger Tommy Amphlett has also been recalled with Steven McGarry the unlucky player from last week-s squad not to make the trip.

The teams have already met once this season, in week three at nib Stadium. Shane Smeltz scored the decisive goal in the 33rd minute to secure Perth Glory a 1-nil win.
