The outcome of Sunday’s Hyundai A-Leage Grand Final may have been a painful one for all those of a purple persuasion, but as a sporting event, it was second to none.
The magnificent setting of Optus Stadium was painted purple as a record Grand Final crowd of 56,371 flocked in to see if Tony Popovic’s side could add the Championship to the Premiers’ Plate already safely locked away inside the club’s trophy cabinet.
