Perth Glory has arrived in South Africa for an intense 16 day, 3 match pre-season tour in the build-up to the 2011/12 Hyundai A-League season.

The 30 man touring party arrived in Johannesburg after a 12 and a half hour flight from Perth and then immediately headed for their training head quarters in Rustenburg.

The squad will be based here until Thursday and then move to Durban for the second stage of the camp.

The players will acclimatise to conditions on Monday before the hard work begins on Tuesday.

The first match will be a day later against Premier league side Platinum Stars FC.

New Zealand defender Steven Old has traveled with the squad. Old, who has previously played with Newcastle and Wellington is on trial and looking to impress Perth Glory Coach Ian Ferguson and his assistants.
