Glory women completed a hat-trick of wins with a strong 4-1 away win on Saturday.

A double for Samantha Kerr and a goal to Rosie Sutton gave Perth the glory over Adelaide United. Sofia Huerta tremendously fired her first goal for her side, but it unfortunately proved inconsequential.

In a fiery contest between Adelaide United and Perth Glory, there were no shortages of chances for both sides. Adelaide captain, Stella Rigon thundered a left-footed shot towards goal, and the deflection off Glory keeper Gabrielle Dal Busco was met by Adriana Jones, who was unable to score after a few attempts.

Huerta looked to break the deadlock, following superb link-up play with Danielle Colaprico. Huerta’s shot looked promising but was sent wide.

Kerr proved a continuous threat to Eliza Campbell’s goal several times, being the first to slot away a chance 18 yards out, floating her shot into the back of the net in the 34th minute, giving the visitors a handy lead.

Huerta then tried to restore parity before the break, launching a shot across goal, Dal Busco only getting a slight touch. Kerr then looked to double, but was thwarted by defender, Katie Naughton.

Despite Adelaide’s control of attack at the start of the second period, Sutton was able to double the lead. Moments after, Huerta netted her first for Adelaide United, sparking some hope for her side.

Kerr completed her brace to bring the Western Australians to 3-1 on 66 minutes, and then Vanessa DiBernardo silenced the home crowd with a penalty converted from the spot in the 82nd minute.

The win lifts Perth Glory into second spot on the Westfield W-League standings.
