Since moving to Perth Glory at the beginning of last season, US import Nikki Stanton is loving life in Australia.

The Washington-born midfielder is living her dream playing professional football, as she continues to ply her trade with a second season at Glory.

“Football is everything to me,” Stanton said.

“It’s been my passion since I was really young,” she added.

Following another season alongside Sam Kerr in the National Women’s Soccer League with Sky Blue FC, the 26-year-old insists she’s buzzing to be back with the squad.

“The girls are so great,” she said.

“I think we have more camaraderie this year and I get really excited to come to training every day,” the North Bend local added.

The American, who has been nicknamed ‘Guti’, has also been enjoying life off the pitch, with Stanton saying she’s fallen in love with the city.

“The coffee’s good, the people are nice, the beaches are awesome,”

“I love the team, the program and all the people I’ve met,” she added.

Stanton’s composed presence has been key this season, with her unbridled work ethic and timely tackles providing the perfect protection in midfield allowing our star-studded forwards to attack.

Glory will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they take on Adelaide United at Elite Systems Football Centre this Saturday.
