Perth Glory custodian, Danny Vukovic, is set to make his 200th Hyundai A- League appearance this evening, in the clash with Western Sydney Wanderers at nib Stadium.

Vuka, as he is known by the fans, has been the stand out in Glory-s up and down season, with performances leading to some players and fans calling for him to be called into the socceroos squad for the World Cup in Brazil later this year.

The 28 year old, Sydney born, shot stopper who is yet to make his full international debut, but has represented Australia at both U20 and U23 level, joined Glory in 2011 and has been an ever present between the posts since his debut in the 1-0 win over Adelaide United in October of that year.

Vukovic started his A-League career at Central Coast Mariners in 2005 before moving to Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor in 2010 but due to difficulties with visa players at the club he was released from his contract and joined Wellington Phoenix back in Australia-s Premier competition.

In his final appearance for the New Zealand based club, Vuka entered the record books by being the first and currently only Goalkeeper to score a goal in the A-League when he slotted home a 93rd minute penalty against North Queensland Fury.

When asked to reflect on his past 199 games the hugely popular keeper said “It only feels like yesterday that I made my debut for the Mariners. I’ve really enjoyed it so far and I-m looking forward to the 200th against Western Sydney”

Perth Glory CEO Jason Brewer added “It-s an absolute pleasure to have Danny at the club and week in week out he shows us what a class keeper he really is. It-s a fantastic achievement to be only the second player in A-League history to reach the 200 game mark. I-m sure Vuka will be one of the first to make it to 300 appearances and it better be here, with us, at Perth Glory”

All the Players and Staff would like to congratulate Danny on this historic milestone. Good Luck Vuka!
