The start of the Hyundai A-League is still two months away but Perth Glory could be boasting three pieces of silverware within days.

Three of its junior teams face off in the “Smarter than Smoking” Junior Cup Finals at Wanneroo City Soccer Club this weekend.

The club’s U-12s, coached by Stuart Banks, the U-13s coached by Goran Stajic and Moe Atekhis and the U-16s coached by Bobby Taneski will be battling for top honours this Saturday August 13.

The U-12s will face Inglewood United; the U-13s will clash against ECU Joondalup, while the U-16s will also face United.

The junior teams only came under the club’s stewardship at the start of the season after inheriting them from Football West’s NTC (National Training Centre) program.

Perth Glory’s Head of Football Jacob Burns, said having three teams in the Cup finals was a reflection of the hard work at the club on and off the park.

“It speaks volumes of the talented pathway in which our best WA juniors can thrive amongst the best coaches and players in the state” he said.

“This is a reflection of everybody’s hard work from the coaches to the players and the administration team. We are focused on raising the bar as high as possible throughout the club’s football department.”

Adding to the prospect of more silverware is the club’s U-18s outfit which is spearheaded by Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon.

Right now the team is second on the ladder, just one win away from top spot, while Bobby Desptovski’s U-20s is still in contention on winning the league for the second year running.
