SUMMER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

LATEST EDITION

We are happy to report the 2012/13 identification and registration process for age groups 2002 – 2005 has now closed with 150 players registered over North, Central and Southern areas with three age groups operating in each area.

The standard has been absolutely outstanding and we invite anyone with an active interest in Junior Football and Junior Development to view the progress the players are making on the Sunday mornings at Yokine Reserve throughout the A League season.

SUMMER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (SDP)

The SDP is a holistic junior development program for players identified by our coaches and scouts to train and play in a professional environment during the A League season.

Community and Development Manager Callum Salmon explained, “The SDP demonstrates our commitment to developing talented players at the youngest age groups in a manner that does not conflict with their training schedules at the Member Federations during the Football West season and supports existing Football West and Football Federation Australia development pathways. We feel as the only professional club in Western Australia that we have a huge responsibility to improve talented footballers in a manner that enhances the Member Federations and governing bodies here in Australia. It is our belief that this is the most effective method of supporting and growing the game for the direct benefit to football players, coaches and fans in Western Australia.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Players can also be recommended via their club coach and our staff will endeavor to watch the player in question. After identification the club will be notified and the player-s parents will be presented with the details of how to register for the Summer Development Program for the next season of 2013/14.
