State team named for Glory clash

Western Australia coach Peter Murphy has been forced to make two changes to his squad that will tackle Perth Glory for the Call To Arms Cup on Wednesday night.

Western Australia coach Peter Murphy has been forced to make two changes to his squad that will tackle Perth Glory for the Call To Arms Cup on Wednesday night.

Former Glory players Marc Anthony and Ryan Townsend have withdrawn from the squad with injury and work commitments respectively.

Cockburn City-s Paul Natale and Stirling Lions import Bobby Wilson have been brought into the team as replacements.

Murphy says the changes won-t hurt his side-s chances against the Glory.

“Paul Natale was brought in as a straight swap for Ryan Townsend who has unfortunately pulled out of the squad,” he said.

“Bobby (Wilson) has come in for Marc Anthony, not necessarily in for his position, but Bobby can play anywhere he is quite a flexible player.

“I don-t think (the changes) will impact on our performance but it will change us tactically how we go about things.”

The Call To Arms Cup presented by Veto Sports will be broadcast live on Heritage FM 107.3 and shown on new community station West TV (channel 44) at 9pm on Thursday July 29.

It will also be repeated on Sunday August 1 at 5.30pm, but some viewers may have to rescan their televisions to access the channel.
