Soccer with the Glory stars

Perth Glory players enjoyed a night of skills, tricks and games in a ‘Soccer with the Stars- coaching clinic for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Over 40 children and their parents attended the clinic at ME Bank Stadium, which was run by Perth Glory assistant coach Ian Ferguson. Glory players Naum Sekulovski, Aleks Vrteski, Tommy Amphlett and Josh Mitchell were also there to teach the kids some new skills.

Ex W-League player and Perth Glory physiotherapist Sarah Cunningham helped out and added a woman-s touch to the fun-filled evening.

After a question and answer session with Ferguson, Sekulovski and Vrteski, all participants made their way down to the pitch for a fantastic circuit of activities. These included penalty shoot outs, small-sided games, skills and drills.

Once the rotations at each station were complete, everyone involved was looking forward to a gourmet sausage sizzle which took place in one of the function rooms at the stadium. Complete with soccer ball themed cup cakes, the meal capped off an action-packed night.

Ferguson said he enjoyed running the clinic and having a kick around with both children and parents alike.

“It was great fun. All the children were lovely and were a pleasure to coach this evening. The whole night ran really well,” Ferguson said.
