Perth Glory FC is urging its fans and members to turn nib Stadium into a sea of purple as the club pays tribute to its “soccer sisters” this weekend.

The club will dedicate Saturday’s RD 7 Hyundai A-League match between Perth and Sydney FC to Perth Glory Women.

Bobby Despotovski’s team sits in fourth spot on the W-League table, after an impressive 2-0 win over Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium at the weekend, thanks to a stunning brace by new American import Vanessa DiBernardo.

The Glory girls have a bye this weekend and will take part in a range of activities around the ground prior to Saturday’s kick-off.The entire Women’s Squad and selected A-League players will mingle with fans during a host of pre-match games and activations.

“This is a whole club event and one we’re very proud to be involved with” said club CEO Peter Filopoulos.

“The Women’s team is a big part of the club, as are our A-league and Youth teams but the Women’s team is a new dimension to our business model, especially transitioning from Football West to PGFC. We we want to honour the Women’s team in front of our fans and members at home.”

The club has also teamed up with Breast Cancer Care WA to help raise funds to provide emotional, practical and financial support to Western Australians affected by breast cancer.

“We’re very proud of our association with Breast Cancer Care WA. They’re fighting a serious and important cause and it’s one we’ll be urging our supporters and fans to support on the day.”

Zoe McAlpine, CEO of Breast Cancer Care WA said, “We are so grateful for this opportunity to partner with Perth Glory. This match will help us raise funds to continue providing our support services free of charge to those affected with breast cancer in Western Australia.”

The match between Perth Glory and Sydney FC kicks off on Saturday at 4.30pm at nib Stadium.
