It is a fixture that has thrown up more than its fair share of thrillers in recent years and Sunday’s Round 2 clash between Glory and Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park certainly continued that trend.
Having raced out to a 2-0 first-half lead courtesy of goals from Joel Chianese and Andy Keogh, the visitors were pegged back as Terry Antonis halved the arrears and then Storm Roux headed home an equaliser with three minutes of normal time remaining.
Glory were not done, however and deep into stoppage-time, Chris Ikonomidis pounced to sweep home his first goal for the club and seal a dramatic win over the reigning Hyundai A-League champions.
