Our incredible custodian Liam Reddy will mark his 200th Hyundai A-League appearance this week against the Brisbane Roar.

We caught up with “Rocket Reddy” to gather his thoughts ahead of this momentous occasion.

Perth Glory: What’s it like to be able to notch up your 200th A-League match at your 7th club?

Liam Reddy: Really good, it’s definitely something I’m proud of. I’ve been fortunate to play at some great clubs and made a lot of good friends along the way. And obviously I’m really happy to be playing my 200th at Perth Glory

PG: There must be a strong sense of pride over this achievement!

LR: Yeah of course, I mean, I’ve had lots of team mates help me along the way and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve it without them and from a family perspective, I know my boys will be especially excited.

PG: Do you still remember your first A-League appearance? Who were you playing for and who were your opponents?

LR: It was the very first A League game. I was playing for Newcastle Jets and we played Adelaide at home. We lost 1-0 and all I remember was that it was a really great atmosphere and we lost.

PG: What’s the most memorable match you’ve played?

LR: Probably the penalty shootout win against Perth when I was playing for Wellington.

PG: Heading west, has it been what you anticipated or expected?

LR: It’s exactly what I expected. We have a really good bunch of boys that come in and work hard every day and want to achieve things this year.  I’m also really enjoying working with Danny Milosovic and the other keepers Jordan (Thurtell) and Nick (Feely).

PG: The family has joined you now in the past few weeks, how important is it to have your three children and wife with you?

LR: Whenever they get the chance, the boys are in at training helping Lambo (Equipment Manager Brett Lambert) out which I’m sure he loves.

PG: How will you prepare for this weekend’s match?

LR: No different to how I usually get ready for every game..
