Roar Emotion fuels Glory

Perth Glory FC is just five days from another pulsating Grand Final replay when it clashes against Brisbane Roar FC at nib Stadium Sunday, in round 2 of the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League.

Hot on the heels of a 2-1 win against Wellington in New Zealand, the Glory boys are keen to register back-to-back wins at home.

Roar head to “Gloryland” after losing their opening encounter 2-1 against Adelaide United. Brisbane’s former captain and star player Matt McKay, has also been suspended for two weeks for dissent.

Perth Glory FC Chief Executive, Jason Brewer has called on all supporters of the game to pack nib Stadium this weekend and turn the arena into a cauldron of fear.

“Besart Berisha may not be playing for Brisbane any more but the club will never forget the 2012 Grand Final loss” he said.

Brewer said the controversial penalty awarded to the Albanian striker – who now plays for Melbourne Victory- still drives the club for revenge. Berisha’s goal sealed the Hyundai A-League title for Roar, just seconds before full time.

“So it’s even more important that Perth and the whole state comes together. We want to rip Brisbane apart every time we play them, it’s us against them and we are calling on supporters, members and fans to unite and show them we can roar the loudest.

The match kicks off at 2pm on Sunday, October 19 at nib Stadium.
