Admittedly focusing in on a player who was wearing the famous purple as recently as 2017 is stretching the definition of ‘retro’ a little far, but there is method behind the apparent madness.
The fact that the draw for the FFA Cup took centre-stage this week got us to thinking about players who have really starred for Glory in the competition and there’s no denying that Nebo ticked that particular box in a very big way.
His five goals were, of course, a key factor in the club’s surge to the inaugural FFA Cup Final in 2014 and he popped in a number of other classics during Hyundai A-League games just for good measure.
