Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) has today named Glory’s Rachel Hill their Westfield W-League Player of the Month for November.

The 22-year-old American has made a sensational start to her Glory career, bagging seven goals in the first six games of the season and also chipping in with several vital assists.

The US Under-20 and Under-23 international forged an instant understanding with new strike partner Sam Kerr and the duo have been on fire ever since, playing a key role in driving Bobby Despotovski’s side to the top of the ladder.

Hill was understandably thrilled to receive the award, but quick to acknowledge the contribution made by her teammates.

“It’s a great honour to receive this award,” she said, “especially with this being my first month playing in the competition.

“But obviously I wouldn’t have won it without the incredible hard work of my teammates who have been fantastic.

“I feel that I’ve really gelled with the team and that’s down to this being such an easy group to jump into. They have been so welcoming since day one and made me feel so comfortable.

“We’re performing well, but are still looking to improve every time we train and play.”

PFA Executive Lydia Williams, meanwhile, added her congratulations to the in-form Glory star.

“There is a host of quality foreign talent in the W-League this year and Rachel is proving to be one of the finds of the season so far,” she said.

“If she keeps performing at this level, I am sure it will go a considerable way to Perth Glory being there again at the business end of the season.”

The PFA W-League Player of the Month is proudly supported by PFA major partners LUCRF Super, Victoria University and Travellers Choice.
