Glory defender Andy Todd said the Perth players are feeling the pain of three narrow defeats and will use that kick in the guts as motivation when they tackle Wellington at Westpac Stadium on Sunday.

The mini mid-season slide has come despite some positive performances and Todd, who made a successful return to action against Melbourne after missing two matches, said it won-t take much to turn things around.
“It’s never nice to go on a little run (without a win) is it? But you know I think we look to Wellington next Sunday and we go there and be positive and try and get a result,” Todd said.
“I think we have just been making little errors here and there and we’ve been getting punished for the little mistakes we’ve made.
“We’ve got to get back to where we were; that five game (winning) run. We have got a bad taste in the mouth now (after recent results) and I think we can quite easily go on another run, but we’ve got to obviously do it quickly.”
Perth made the long trek across the Tasman in round two but was left to rue several attempts on goal that were denied by the woodwork and then a late Leo Bertos thunderbolt that sealed the win for the home side.
Glory-s round 14 match will be their last before the competition observes a one week FIFA break and Todd said carrying winning form into the second phase of the season is a key focus for Perth.
“We don’t want to come back from Wellington with a loss. We want to, obviously, get a win under our belts because there is a long break,” Todd said.
“If we do lose it’s a long time before there’s another game to get it out of your system. So, it will be important to get something in Wellington.
“We’ve been there early on this season and we played quite well but lost. It’s going to be a tough game, they got a great result against Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago, but I think it’ll be up to us to go there and take the game to them.”
