A month out before he steps into the ring to fight Slovakian Tamas Kovacs, popular WA boxer Danny Green took some time out of his busy schedule for some one-on-one training with players from Perth Glory.

Richard Garcia, Josh Risdon and new signings Antony Golec, Jerrad Tyson and Hungarian import Juri Sandor, swapped footballs for boxing gloves and punching bags.

Sandor who arrived in Perth from Budapest this week told Green that he knew Kovacs and was a hard-hitting fighter.

But in the same breath said Green should handle the Slovakian’s power.

“He’s training in my city, in Budapest, he’s a tough guy, a good puncher but I think our fighter (Green) will handle it” he joked.

“I love Perth Glory, but I’m not much good at soccer, but being from Perth it’s my home town so ofcourse I’m going to support the boys” Green said.

The 42-year old said he was training well and was looking forward to his fight against Kovacs which will be held in Melbourne on August 19.

Perth Glory would like to wish “The Green Machine” the best of luck ahead of the fight.
