Perth Glory-s NPL teams head up the Mitchell Freeway this weekend to take on northern suburbs giants, ECU Joondalup.

After having drawn its first round NPL WA match against Perth SC in a tight and highly entertaining match last week, Glory will be looking for another strong performance against a very young ECU Joondalup team that starred in a thrilling 3-3 opening round draw with Cockburn City.

The match will be of special significance to last week-s Glory man-of the match, Joe Knowles, along with fellow team mates, Scott Robinson and Jack Oldham, all of whom played for ECU Joondalup-s first team under current coach Dale McCulloch last season.

ECU Joondalup and Glory have a number of connections with current A-League players Brandon O-Neill, Josh Risdon and Rostyn Griffiths all former junior and senior players at ECU Joondalup. Even Glory-s recently appointed NPL General Manager, Andy Petterson, has a connection with ECU Joondalup, with the former professional footballer having spent 5 years there involved in the administration and coaching set-up.

Gates at ECU Sports Ground open on Saturday at 9:45am with Perth Glory’s NPL Under 18s team kicking off against ECU Joondalup at 11.00am, with the Under 20s team at 1.00pm and Glory-s NPL 1st team kicking off at 3.00pm.

Entry into the ground is $10 for the day, $5 for concession and juniors under 16s free. Please note that the Glory members discount only applies to home games played at Intiga Stadium and not at away games.

Immediately after the game Glory fans will get their chance for even more football with Perth Glory taking on Melbourne Victory at nib Stadium in Round 22 of the Hyundai A-League match with kick off at 6.45pm.
