Perth Glory Football Club will unveil its commemorative Heritage Jersey and announce the team’s new captain at the “QBE Gloryus Family Fun Day” at Elizabeth Quay on Sunday October 2.
As the club celebrates its 20th anniversary in domestic football, the new jersey will be unveiled by players from the current and original squad.
The Heritage Kit will be worn for the first match of the Hyundai A-League season, against the Central Coast Mariners on October 8 at nib Stadium.
Members and fans are invited to attend the popular free family event and meet their favourite players from the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League.
“It’s an exciting start to our new season, and a chance for the Glory faithful to meet some of the new players who’ve come into the squad” said club CEO Peter Filopoulos.
“We’ve got 14-home grown players in the mix and it’s an exciting era in the club’s history. We’re the oldest club in the A-League and we’re working hard to pay homage to our past” he added.
Members and fans will be able to buy a range of club merchandise on the day. The Heritage Jersey will be on sale at the first match against the Mariners at nib Stadium.
Memberships will also be available for sale on the day with the club striving to beat the Club’s membership record targeting 8,500 Members. So far more than 6,000 members have signed-up to date.
There’ll also be a host of prizes, giveaways and free family entertainment for all.
The club will also pay tribute to its National Premier League WA teams, which have come under the Perth Glory stewardship for the first time.
The Fun Day starts at 11am and finishes at 2pm with the Heritage Jersey set to be unveiled at 12pm followed by the announcement of the team captain.
