Naum gets his chance at singing Glory

Naum Sekulovski, Perth Glory defender and star singer in the making will come face to face with Ian “Dicko” Dickson this Friday.

Naum Sekulovski, Perth Glory defender and star singer in the making will come face to face with Ian “Dicko” Dickson this Friday.

After Sekulovski controversially lost A-League Idol, organisers have bowed to pressure from the Perth public – and given Naum a second chance at glory.

Shannon Cole, the competitions winner (subject to appeal) is running scared, and has announced his retirement from competitive singing.

So Sekulovski will get the chance to show Dicko he has what it takes – live in front of the A-League Idol judge.

Back in January, Sekulovski and Shannon Cole tied (along with Rhyan Grant) with three ticks from the panel of judges, including Mark Bosnich and Robbie Slater. Dicko – as head judge – awarded the victory to Cole.

“It’s clear the people of Perth feel Naum wasn’t given a fair go, and we need to make sure we get these big decisions right.

“Now it’s down to Naum to prove he’s worth this second shot.

“But Dicko isn’t scared of making big calls, and will definitely let Naum know if he isn’t up to scratch,” Mark Bosnich, Hyundai Matchday Saturday co-host, said

“It-s fantastic I-ve finally been given the green light.

“Basically, it-s a dream come true so hopefully I will produce the goods and get what is right fully mine.

“It was a tough pill to swallow but it-s not often you get a second chance and I-d like to thank god for looking down on me,” Sekulovski added.

The Hyundai Matchday Saturday Grand Final show is live on Friday March 19 at 4.30pm (AWST) on Fox Sports 3, and will be shown again ahead of the A-League Grand Final live coverage on Saturday March 20 at 2pm (AWST) on Fox Sports 3.
