Our regular weekly wrap of all your Glory stories.

Duo back in contention

Andreu and Joseph Mills are expected to return to the Glory squad for Saturday’s Long Distance Derby clash with Wellington Phoenix at Westpac Stadium.

The Spanish midfielder has shaken off the calf injury that has kept him out of action since Round 16, while English defender Mills missed Glory’s trip to Adelaide a fortnight ago through suspension.

Chris Harold, however, will not travel having picked up a quad strain and Adam Taggart will not be involved either as he continues to battle his way back from a hamstring injury.

Deadly Diego

Diego Castro will surely head into the Phoenix game full of confidence having scored three goals in his last four games.

And ‘El Maestro’ has fond memories of New Zealand having slammed home a stunning free-kick there last season to secure a point for Glory in a dramatic 3-3 draw at Albany’s QBE Stadium.

The 35-year-old has only been on the losing side twice in eight appearances against the Kiwis and has supplied four assists on the road this term, second only to Sydney FC’s Michael Zullo.

Tando in the frame

Tando Velaphi could be poised to make his debut for Phoenix against his former club.

Now 30, the agile shot-stopper made more than 70 appearances for Glory between 2007 and 2011 before playing for both Melbourne clubs and then trying his luck in Japan.

He spent some time training with Glory earlier this month ahead of signing for Phoenix where he is now vying for the gloves with another ex-Perth ‘keeper in Lewis Italiano.

Don’t miss Sam and co!

There’ll be another chance for Perth fans to catch super Sam Kerr live late next month.

Glory’s Westfield W-League skipper is set to line up up for the Matildas when they take on Thailand at nib Stadium on Monday 26 March.

The game will act as a crucial warm-up for Alen Stajcic’s side ahead of the 2018 AFC Women’s Asian Cup which is due to take place in Jordan in April.

Don’t miss the Blues either!

Don’t forget that the exclusive members-only pre-sale period for Chelsea tickets has been extended until 9am on Thursday 15 February, with public sales then getting underway an hour later at 10am.

The eagerly-anticipated clash with the reigning English Premier League champions will take place at Optus Stadium on Monday 23 July.

Kick-off time is yet to be confirmed, but the club has been advised that it will be in the evening.
