Midweek Matters

Wednesday’s here and that means it’s time for another round-up of the latest news coming out of Glory HQ…

Back in the frame

Alex Grant, Marc Warren and Mitch Nichols could all be included in the Glory squad for Saturday’s clash with Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.

Grant and Nichols have trained strongly this week having each missed the last two games, while Warren has shaken off the groin niggle that forced him to withdraw from the squad shortly before kick-off against Western Sydney last weekend.

Andreu and Adam Taggart, however, are unlikely to make the trip as they are yet to recover from respective calf and hamstring problems and Joseph Mills will also miss out due to suspension.

Stat attack

Diego Castro has provided four assists away from home this season which is the joint-highest return of any player in the league (Victory’s Leroy George being the other).

The Spaniard has also scored three times in his three A-League appearances at Coopers Stadium.

Glory have an overall A-League victory ratio of 25% at Coopers Stadium, although that figure has been improved in recent seasons with the men in purple losing on just one of their last four visits to the South Australian capital.

Poscoliero moves on

Jacob Poscoliero has parted company with Glory after the termination of his contract was mutually agreed.

The 27-year-old defender made eight appearances earlier in the season, six of which were starts.

Everyone at the club would like to wish ‘Posco’ all the very best for the future.

Good luck, girls!

Glory’s overseas contingent have headed home after the Westfield W-League campaign came to an end on Sunday.

Rachel Hill, Nikki Stanton, Raquel ‘Rocky’ Rodriguez and Amanda Frisbie are all set to feature in America’s National Women’s Soccer League next season, along with Glory skipper Sam Kerr.
