Midweek Matters

Dino’s delight

Dino Djulbic is poised to launch his third spell at the club in Sunday’s home clash with Western Sydney Wanderers.

The experienced defender has trained strongly since signing on once again earlier in the week and is in contention for a starting spot as Glory look to force their way back into the top six.

Djulbic started three games for Melbourne Victory earlier this month so he’s already match-fit and as always, the effervescent Perth local is raring to go.

“I’m delighted to be back at Glory,” he said, “and can’t wait to get back into it this weekend, if selected.

“Everyone around the place has made me feel so welcome, training has been sharp and all the lads are really focused on getting the three points against Western Sydney.

“I’ve always loved playing in front of our supporters at nib Stadium and I’m sure they’ll create a fantastic atmosphere this weekend as they always do.”

Brandon’s back

Wilson and Taggart hug

Head Coach Kenny Lowe’s selection options have been further boosted by the return from international duty of Brandon Wilson.

The highly-rated young midfielder had been away since the start of the month with Australia’s Under-23 side, but following their elimination from the AFC Under-23 Championship in China, is now ready to resume his domestic duties with Glory.

Wilson is also set to turn 21 on Sunday, so let’s hope he has extra cause for celebration!

Ticket time

Sunday’s game is, of course, a double-header, with the Hyundai A-League game kicking off at 5.30pm, followed by the Westfield W-League clash at 8.15pm.

Please note that A-League prices will apply.

There will also be a raffle taking place to raise funds for the Glory Powerchair Football Team, with some superb Glory-themed prizes to be won.

Look out for the ticket sellers around the ground.

Bravo, Bolger!

Nicola Bolger

Nicola Bolger is set to make her 100th career Westfield W-League appearance against Western Sydney.

The midfielder debuted for her hometown club, Sydney FC, aged just 15 and also played for Newcastle Jets before joining Glory ahead of the current campaign.

Bolger has made nine starts this term, scoring once and also contributing three assists.

Final flourish

Our Foxtel Y-League team will be hoping to round their campaign off in style when they visit Melbourne Victory on Sunday morning.

John Gibson’s side have taken seven points from their last three Conference A games and could secure a third-place finish should they claim the spoils at Epping Stadium (kick off is at 7.30am WST) and Adelaide fail to beat Brisbane next Thursday.
