Match Preview – New recruits in frame to face Wanderers

New signings Dino Djulbic and Neil Kilkenny are both expected to feature for Glory in Sunday’s Round 18 clash with Western Sydney Wanderers at nib Stadium (Kick off at 5.30pm).

Djulbic has trained with his new teammates all week, while Kilkenny is set to join in Friday’s session having flown in from Melbourne late on Wednesday.

And although several first-team regulars are still to return from injury, Head Coach Kenny Lowe feels that the arrival of the new duo has given the rest of the squad a lift.

“We’re delighted to have brought two players of Dino and Neil’s quality on board,” he said, “and Dino has already been buzzing around the place as he always does!

“Both of them are out-and-out winners with bags of experience and it’s great to have them in the group.

“As well as the quality they bring, they also bring an attitude to the game that is a great example for our younger players as they come through.”

Lowe’s selection options have been further boosted by the return of Brandon Wilson who missed four games while away on international duty with Australia Under-23s in China.

Glory will move level on points with sixth-placed Wanderers should they manage to secure a fourth home win of the season.

Josep Gombau’s side have been draw specialists on the road this term, sharing the spoils five times in nine away games, while also picking up wins at Central Coast and Brisbane.

Their recent record at nib Stadium is a poor one, however, as they have failed to win any of the last five meetings with Glory here in the West.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash, Wanderers have been bolstered by the return from suspension of Brendan Hamill and he could line up alongside three former Glory players in the form of defensive trio Jack Clisby, Josh Risdon and Michael Thwaite.

Don’t forget that our Westfield W-League side will also be in action against Western Sydney as part of Sunday’s double-header.

The women’s game kicks off at 8.15pm and please note that A-League prices apply.
