The match day voice of Glory

If you think you have seen or heard Perth Glory’s match day announcer Chris Korner before, you probably have.

If you think you have seen or heard Perth Glory-s match day announcer Chris Korner before, you probably have.

Chris- lively and upbeat voice was honed in his day as a boxing ring announcer here in Perth. Chris also hosted boxing shows on Perth radio including the Fairfax station 6PR. Chris- knowledge of the sweet science led him to play the role of the television commentator George, in the locally filmed movie Two Fists One Heart.

Bitten by the acting bug he has had roles in Underbelly, Gangs of Oz and Home Away since 2008. His polished voice has also led him to do many voice overs for advertisements and soundtracks.

A self confessed sport addict, Chris- love of the world game is well known. He has had the privilege of attending the last two world cups and was the exclusive Austereo radio correspondent, gaining many exclusives, at the last cup in South Africa.

Chris, like the rest of us, was very disappointed that the 2022 bid did not go our way. “After personally seeing what a great boost it is for each host nation to have the World Cup, being to Germany and South Africa, it would have been awesome to have it in Australia. After the Sydney Olympics we have such a great reputation for staging large scale international level events so there is no question that it would have been a huge success here” he said

In the meantime Glory wins are his focus and if anyone can rev the crowd and get them behind our boys for the next win and the march up the ladder, Chris can.
