Scans have revealed Perth Glory forward Travis Dodd has torn two ligaments in his knee and will unfortunately require a reconstruction.

In a massive blow for the club and Dodd, the star forward will consult Perth Glory’s medical staff today and the surgeon later this week.

The cruel twist happened late in Saturday’s dramatic win against Melbourne Victory when Dodd raced in on goal and was tackled.

Dodd was immediately substituted and walked back to the rooms but scans on Monday morning showed he has torn his ACL and LCL ligament.

“It’s really sad news for Travis and the club,” Perth Glory coach Alistair Edwards said.

“Travis was in very good form and is an important member of our squad.

“Travis is well respected by all the players and a wonderful clubman.”

One of the Hyundai A-League’s most admired players, Perth Glory wishes Travis a speedy and positive recovery.
