Day Six

With plenty of one-on-one duels and shooting opportunities, this morning’s training session at Stadium Negeri was a high-spirited affair.

In amongst plenty of fine saves from Liam Reddy and Danny ‘There’s no way I’m making a comeback’ Milosevic, there were some quality goals scored, with Chok Dau, Jason Davidson and Dino Djulbic among those finding the net in style.

And Dino’s goal celebration wasn’t too shabby either!

There was no let-up in the hard work, however, especially given that the second and final tour game is now only 24 hours away and the players wasted no time whatsoever in heading for the sanctuary of the air-conditioned team bus come the end of the session.

They weren’t the only people working hard at Stadium Negeri, though.

This guy had the unenviable task of water-blasting the terracing – and there is a LOT of terracing at Stadium Negeri!

One-on-one meetings with Head Coach Tony Popovic were on the agenda for some squad members after lunch, while six others, Jake Brimmer, Luca Bodnar, Jason Davidson, Zayd Farah, Alex Grant and Tomislav Mrcela, headed off for what proved to be a profoundly emotional visit to the paediatric oncology unit of nearby Di Dalam Kawasan Hospital.

To round off the day, a number of the staff returned to Stadium Negeri to watch Sarawak FA battle out a 1-1 draw with Terengganu FC II in the Malaysian Challenge Cup.
