The magic of the FFA Cup has begun with Perth Glory FC set to clash against Newcastle Jets FC, the same team it defeated in the same round last year, after a brilliant brace from star striker Andy Keogh.

The clash was unveiled during today’s Round of 32 FFA Cup draw.

Head coach Kenny Lowe said after qualifying for the FFA Cup final last year against Adelaide United, the team was focused on going one step further.

“We’re treating this competition seriously as we did last year.Making the inaugural Cup final was a great achievement and it would be wonderful for all the fans, players, members and sponsors if we could go one better. We’re in it to win it” he said.

“I’ve played in FA Cup matches in England and the excitement and the atmosphere is like no other, so we’ll be giving it a go and head into the competition with all the best intentions” Lowe said.

The date, time and venue for the clash will be confirmed on Friday, July 3.
