Perth Glory would like to thank its fans and official apparel partner Macron for the strong sales figures and growth of the Club-s range of merchandise for this 2013/14 Hyundai A-League.
Sales revenue from Club related merchandise is forecast to increase for the 5th successive season, with the increase largely attributed to the new Macron brand and the strong home shirt design that has been extremely well received by the supporters. In addition the Club-s new, online store and new official Club store (located in its West Leederville offices) have contributed significantly to the increased sales of replica shirts and other club merchandise.
As a further sign of the growth in sales, gross royalties received from the FFA on the sale of the Club-s merchandise for the first 6 months of the 2014 financial year, increased by 52%, on 2013 royalties. This makes Perth Glory merchandise sales the second highest increase out of all the Hyundai A-League teams and second only to Western Sydney Wanderers.
“It is particularly pleasing to see the success of the Macron and Perth Glory range of merchandise so far this year.” CEO Jason Brewer said today.
“The new home shirt has been very popular with our fans and its design, which was based on their feedback, saw a change from the purple and white thick stripes back to a more traditional predominantly two-tone purple design with thinner white stripes” Brewer continued.
Macron Australia Chief Executive Mr David King added “The demand for Perth Glory merchandise and replica shirts from fans has far exceeded our expectations. We said at the start of the season that we were looking forward to working with Perth Glory and it has been a very successful relationship so far that we believe will continue.”
Perth Glory will shortly be commencing pre-sales and online sales of the specially designed 3rd shirt, in Western Australia-s patriotic colours of black and gold, that was designed by supporter, Daniel Giannasi, and voted by fans. The new 3rd strip will be worn at the ‘People-s Game- supported by QBE Insurance, against Central Coast Mariners on 5 April 2014.
