Perth Glory FC and QBE Insurance are proud to announce 21-year old striker Jamie Maclaren,as the winner of the QBE Supporters’ Player of the Year Award.

Glory fans voted Maclaren as QBE Supporters’ Man of the Match five times, during the regular home and away Hyundai A-League season.

Maclaren scored nine goals from 20 matches and finished the season on a high which included a hat-trick against Melbourne City FC in round 26 and followed it up with a stunning strike against the Western Sydney Wanderers in Round 27.

“The fans have been awesome this season, and to hear my name chanted by them makes me want to give back” he said.

Maclaren was also the April nominee for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year which was won by Adelaide United’s Jimmy Jeggo at the annual Hyundai A-League awards last night.

“It’s a humbling experience to be named as one of the best young prospects in the country” he said.

“Congratulations to Jimmy Jeggo. He had an outstanding year.”

“I’d also like to thank QBE for its ongoing commitment to the club for another year and helping Glory engage with our fans through the QBE Supporters’ Man of the Match competition”.

Maclaren and the rest of the squad are enjoying a month off, before the pre-season begins in mid-June.
