Lowe to blood new boys in pre-season clash

Glory will take on Inglewood United in their first pre-season hit-out on Wednesday night, with Kenny Lowe taking a strong squad to Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium.

Off-season recruits Scott Neville, Mitch Nichols and Jacob Poscoliero are all set to feature, along with the likes of Adam Taggart, Rostyn Griffiths, Chris Harold and Liam Reddy.

Andy Keogh will also be involved and it promises to be an interesting night for Glory’s record Hyundai A-League goalscorer who also happens to be Inglewood’s Head Coach.

Runners-up in the PS4NPLWA last season, United are currently top of the table having lost just once since Keogh took charge.

They also boast the league’s top scorer in Alex Salmon who has found the net on 24 occasions this term, so it’s little wonder that Lowe is expecting the hosts to provide a genuine test for his charges.

“It’s exactly the kind of challenge we need at this stage of our pre-season preparations,” he said, “as it will give us a good idea of where we’re at in terms of fitness and sharpness.

“We’re obviously building up to the Westfield FFA Cup game against Heidelberg on August 1st and a key part of that is getting the lads some game time. We’ll be looking to get everyone some minutes over the course of tonight and next week’s game at Perth SC, including our new arrivals. It’s a good opportunity in terms of helping them to settle in.”

Kick off for the game is at 7pm and admission is free, so do get along to lend the lads your support if you can.

And don’t forget that today is the last day for Early Bird Membership Renewals – don’t miss out on the chance to renew your seat for the 2017-18 season at a discount price!
