Former Perth Glory coach Bernd Stange will return to Perth next week to be part of a special Legends Game on the opening day of the season, October 7.

Stange, will coach a team of former Perth Glory Grand Final heroes including Bobby Despotovski, Gareth Naven, Scott Miller and Jamie Harnwell. The Perth Glory team will play a WA veterans side that will be managed by Perth Glory-s first coach, Gary Marocchi, and also feature former Perth Glory players.

The Legends game will be a curtain raiser to the Grand Final Rematch between Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar at Patersons stadium.

“It-s going to be great fun to see all our past champions back on the field,” Perth Glory Chief Executive Paul Kelly said.

“We have a great history and the Legends game will recognise those stars.

“We are delighted they have agreed to play while the return of Bernd Stange will be massive.”

Along with the Legends game, Perth Glory have worked closely with Patersons Stadium to create the ultimate Game Day experience.

“We are delighted to announce that our fans will be allowed to play on the field before the game in our designated game day precinct.

“We are just as happy to confirm that fans will also be allowed on the field at the end of the game for a kick around and that our players will also sign autographs.

“We want to make sure our fans and members have a day to remember,” Kelly added.

The Legends game will kick-off at 12.45pm.
