Youngster Kosta Petratos will leave Perth Glory at the end of the 2016/17 season to be closer with his family in New South Wales.

The 18-year old arrived in Western Australia in January 2016, featuring seven times off the bench for Perth, while this season he has made two appearances including a starting debut in the 1-1 away draw against Melbourne Victory in Round 9.

Petratos said he was grateful for the opportunity coach Kenny Lowe had given him.

“I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Perth and playing alongside some of the best players in the Hyundai A-League.”

“Between now and the end of the season however, I am keen on playing more games and helping Perth achieve a home final” Petratos said.

Meantime, Perth youngster Joe Knowles, who has spent the past three season’s in the club’s youth system has been offered a senior contract for the 2017/18 season.

The 20-year old impressed strongly during the club’s pre-season tour of the Philippines and in the recent Youth League campaign.

“It’s great for Joe, he’s been in our system for a while now and he’s worked ever so hard to earn this opportunity” Lowe said.

Knowles has made five Hyundai A-League appearances to date, the most recent was in this season’s Round One opener against Central Coast.

Former AIS graduate and ‘Joey’, Jack Iredale, who has fought back his way into the Youth team after three ACL injuries, has also been promoted to train with the senior squad for the rest of the season and lies as an exciting prospect for the future.
