Perth Glory FC can confirm Irish striker Andy Keogh has been cleared to play the first home match of the New Year against Adelaide United this weekend.

Glory re-signed the 29-year old last month on a multi-year deal with his contract starting from January 2016.

Keogh scored 17 times in all competitions in the 2014/15 season and is expected to be a goal scoring threat once more for Glory coach Kenny Lowe and his charges for the rest of the current Hyundai A-League season.

“Andy’s been training with the team for a a few weeks now and he’s hungry to get out there. His winning mentality has helped lift the vibe around the playing group, so we’re all excited” said Lowe.

Keogh made no secret of his desire to play in the first game of the New Year and hoped there’d be a big crowd on the back of the free ticket offer for kids this weekend.

“It’s going to be a great night for me and my family. I’ve been working hard on and off the pitch over the last few weeks and I really can’t wait to get out there and smash a few in” he said.

Saturday night’s clash will feature a strong Spanish contingent, including Perth’s midfield maestro Diego Castro and United’s Isaias, Pablo Sanchez and Sergio Cirio culminating in one huge match under the stars at nib Stadium.

Kick-off is at 6.40pm and tickets can be purchased HERE.
