Kenny Lowe, who holds a UEFA ‘A- Coaching License and is completing his AFC Pro Licence, will immediate assume full heading coaching duties, takes his first training session this Friday afternoon and a further training session on Saturday ahead of taking charge of Perth Glory-s Round 11 match against Adelaide United on Sunday at 4.00pm.
Lowe is rated as one of the country-s leading football coaches and returns to Perth Glory having previously been a former Assistant Coach between 2007 and 2011. Since 2006 he has held the position of Head Coach Football Federation Australia WA NTC Institute of Sport where he has driven the coaching of Western Australia-s leading elite youth players.
Chief Executive Jason Brewer says the appointment was a perfect fit for Perth Glory given his previous association with the Club, his understanding of the Club-s culture, strategy and that his coaching philosophy was entirely consistent with the Club-s player development strategy.
“Kenny Lowe is clearly one of this country-s leading coaches, he is well respected by all his peers for his coaching abilities. His previous experience at the Club and the respect he has from all involved in the game made him the standout choice to assume this interim position. He has helped nurture some of this countries brightest prospects including many members of our current squad. He has a very impressive pedigree in youth development in particular and that is something our Club remains strongly committed to and will not deviate from.”

Andrew Ord will also join as First Team Assistant Coach. Ord, 34, has worked with Lowe at the NTC in 2008-2010 and the Perth Glory NYL side in 2010-2011 but has also had outstanding success in Asian football, working at Yangon United F.C. in Myanmar and BEC Tero Sasana FC and Muangthong United FC in Thailand.
Brewer explained the club will engage the services of an executive recruitment firm as it continues its search for a permanent replacement for the Head Coaching position.
“We want to ensure that we undertake a thorough and highly professional search process to identify the most suitable candidate for the permanent position of head coach. We want to make this very important decision with a view to ensuring a path for sustained success in the long term.”
Brewer said Lowe and Ord have the full backing of the Perth Glory board and feel highly confident that their appointment will ensure stability and provide the best chance for success in the interim, starting with leading the team against Adelaide United this Sunday at 4pm.
“We have moved quickly and effectively to identify and address the issues which culminated in events of the last weekend and have learnt a great deal in the process. This has only served to make this great Club stronger and we can all now look forward with great hope and enthusiasm,” Brewer said.
Current board member Declan Kelly has been endorsed by the Club as the new Director of Football Communications.
Following Jason Brewer-s major review of all aspects of the Club, it was concluded that this role was vital to ensure that recent events at the club are not repeated and that there is clear lines of communication open for the football department through to the CEO and the Board.
“In light of recent developments at Perth Glory it became very evident that the position of Director of Football Communications was required. This role involves working with the players, coaches and all Football department personnel in ensuring that full communication will take place between football department and the CEO and the Board,” Brewer said.
Declan has 25-years-experience in working in the media both here in Australia and in Europe. He was General Manager of 6PR & 96FM for 10 years and brings a wealth of experience to the club.
“I am delighted to take on this role for Perth Glory a club I am extremely passionate about. When owner Tony Sage and CEO Jason Brewer approached me I was excited to do it. I am very much looking forward to working with the whole Football Department and helping Perth Glory have a very successful season as there is still so much to play for. These are exciting times for Perth Glory and Football in general as we enter a World Cup year in 2014 and we want Perth Glory back in the headlines for all the right reasons,” Kelly said.
