Jets get Jamie fired up

Of all the players that have donned the famous purple shirt over the years, few have worn their heart on their sleeve more than Jamie Harnwell.

He simply oozed passion and commitment from every pore during his 250-plus appearances for the club that transcended the NSL and Hyundai A-League eras.

And it was during the early A-League years that he became something of a thorn in the side of Newcastle Jets.

In 14 appearances against the men from the Hunter Valley, he managed to score seven goals which was comfortably his best return against any A-League club.

He didn’t find the net in the January 2009 clash from which the attached picture is taken, however, which may partly explain why he wasn’t feeling a huge amount of love for Jobe Wheelhouse.
