Perth Glory Women coach John Gibson has announced his squad for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.

In a huge boost for the young squad, two new international faces will join the club in a fantastic coup for the Westfield W-League.

Kate Gill-s LdB Malmo teammate Tine Cederkvist Viskær will be the club-s number one goalkeeper after signing on for the 2010/11 season.

Cederkvist is a Danish international and has 47 caps for her country.

Another international joining the Glory will be Sweden-s Alexandra Nilsson.

The 24-year-old defender is the captain of Swedish team Sunnana SK and her signing will no doubt bolster the Perth defence.

More new faces to the team will be local stars Lara Filocamo, Jaymee Gibbons and Emily Dunn, while Bunbury-s Kathleen Waycott will be the Perth Glory Women reserve goalkeeper.

Foundation player Stacey Learmont also returns to the team after missing last season after the birth of her daughter and US import Alex Singer will be back for her second year at the club.

The new signings join the strong core of established players such as Westfield Matildas stars Sam Kerr, Collette McCallum and Katie Gill, along with Perth Glory Women captain Tanya Oxtoby.

Gibson says is he pleased with how his side has taken shape and hopes to guide the club into a maiden finals series.

“I-m very happy with the squad in terms of quality and depth, the international signings are a huge boost for us,” he said.

“We’ve also given opportunities to local players who have impressed over the last year.”

The Perth Glory W-League boss also went on to explain his decision not re-signing Westfield Matildas striker Lisa De Vanna.

“Unfortunately we’ve had to make some hard decisions on the squad for upcoming season and Lisa didn’t fit into the plans of the future direction of the team over the next few years,” he said.

“We’ve have seen some good improvements with the group in the last 12 months and Season 3 will be very intense and standard of the competition will be very high.

“Our goal will be to improve on last year and push for finals.”

Perth Glory Women will host Canberra United in Round One of the Westfield W-League on November 7 at Inglewood-s 6PR Stadium, with kick-off at 3pm.
