Scans have revealed Perth Glory defender Chris Coyne has torn his right Achilles.
Coyne will have surgery next week and will be out of action for a minimum of three months.
“Obviously it-s a huge blow and an injury we didn-t need,” Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson said.
“With Scott Neville already out and Steve Pantelidis still a few weeks away from match fitness, it leaves us short at the back.
“Chris is a big character and leader, a player we will miss.”
Coyne picked up the injury late in the game against Melbourne Victory.
