Perth Glory young gun Matt Davies has spoken of how the cruel set of circumstances which saw him miss out on a coveted U17 Australian World Cup place in 2011 was the inspiration which drove him towards fulfilling his lifelong dream of one day playing for his beloved Perth Glory.

Impressive in his debut role as TV host for the very first episode of Football West-s new online junior TV program, “Shoot”, Matt described how he was one the very last few players to be cut from the Joeys World Cup Squad and what that meant.

And quite simply that meant working harder than he had ever before. A work ethic which realised the ultimate reward when signed by the Glory on a two year deal late last year.

“When I signed for Glory I was estatic. It was something I worked towards for such a long time. It-s just such a major step for me on the path I want to be on. If just goes to show if you put in some hard work, eventually you can get there” , Davies said.

Shoot also features Perth Glory-s FIFA Street , Futsal star and Community & Development officer Daniel Cappellaro in a tricks and skills segment.
