A half-time speech from coach Jamie Harnwell prompted a stirring Sorrento fight back as they turned a two-goal deficit into a 3-2 victory against a potent Perth Glory side at Intiga Stadium yesterday.

Trailing 2-0 at the break, Sorrento were given a rousing address from Harnwell and responded with three goals in 15 minutes.

“We are a physical side and if we need to use that to win games, we will do it,” Harnwell said. “They had A-League players in their side and the boys were up for the challenge and it was superb.”

The fight back also came at a cost with captain James Morgan collecting a second yellow card in the 65th minute but Sorrento battled on to claim the win.

Glory hit the lead after 10 minutes through Jamie Maclaren-s penalty and the margin was doubled when Riley Woodcock-s questionable cross lobbed goalkeeper James Morgan.

“I was trying to give a ball to Jamie (Maclaren) but I shanked it,” Woodcock admitted after the game.

Sorrento-s fight-back started just three minutes into the second half when a swift counter attack resulted in Todd Harnwell lobbing goalkeeper Jack Duncan.

The Gulls- barrage did not stop there with ex-Glory player Reece Vittiglia scoring a brace in eight minutes.

Glory substitutes Joe Knowles and Jacob Collard provided fresh legs at the 60-minute mark but the Sorrento defence, featuring a superb performance from young defender Razack Geloo, held firm.
