Perth Glory wish to congratulate Jamie Maclaren, Ryan Edwards and Jack Duncan who are all set to represent the Olyroos at the AFC Under-22 Championship in Oman this January after being selected in Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar’s 23-man-squad.

Perth Glory wish to congratulate Jamie Maclaren, Ryan Edwards and Jack Duncan who are all set to represent the Olyroos at the AFC Under-22 Championship in Oman this January after being selected in Head Coach Aurelio Vidmar-s 23-man-squad.

Young playmaker Brandon O’Neill and left-back Riley Woodcock have also been named as emergency players, and are on standby to join Vidmar’s side when they travel to Oman on the 11th of January, 2014. Australia will face Kuwait, Iran and Japan in one of the tougher groups at the tournament.

Maclaren and Edwards have been regulars in the Perth Glory team in their first season at the club and have been rewarded for their strong performances in the Hyundai A-League. Maclaren has received praise for his hard work up front, which has created numerous opportunities for the clever forward, while Edwards’ has also impressed in the number 10 role with his high energy levels and box-to-box runs. Duncan earns his spot on the back on several strong performances in the Foxtel National Youth League.

“It is fantastic news for the players that their good performances in the A-League for Perth Glory has been recognised and rewarded with their selection in the national team,” Chief Executive Jason Brewer said.

Owing to their selection, the three players will not be available for the club-s Hyundai A-League encounters against Melbourne Heart, Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers in January 2014.
