Grant eager to extend unbeaten run

Perth Glory FC defender Alex Grant believes this Saturday’s match against Brisbane Roar will be a good opportunity for the team to maintain their positive momentum.

While points have been tough to come by away from home for Glory this season, a point against Victory on Sunday was a step in the right direction.

“That’s something we really focused on ahead of the Melbourne game, was our away form. It hasn’t been the best this season,” said Grant.

“Not only ourselves, but every team will focus on picking up points away from home. It’s massive. If you want to finish in the top six, then you’ve got to do it. So we’ll look to pick up a point, or hopefully the win away from home.”

Glory comes into the match on a four-game unbeaten streak, a run of form Grant is confident the team can improve upon.

“It’s great. Obviously everyone wants to be in a winning team. And if you’re not losing it’s also a massive bonus.

“Teams are struggling to score against us. We’re defending well as a team and as a unit, and we’re finding the back of the net now as well, which is always a positive.”

Like Perth, the hosts are on a strong run of form of their own with three straight wins, including two home fixtures.

“They’ll be full of confidence, but so are we,” insisted Grant.

Pending other Round 13 results, Glory could jump two spots on the ladder with a win over Brisbane.
