Grand Final predictions

Sunday’s Hyundai A-League Grand Final will see the competitions top two teams square off in the championship decider.

Sunday-s Hyundai A-League Grand Final will see the competitions top two teams square off in the championship decider.

Here are the thoughts of Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson and club captain Jacob Burns on who will win and why.

Ian Ferguson

“I-m tipping Brisbane Roar,” Ferguson said.

“I think they have been the most consistent team all season and have played the best football.

“You can never write off the Central Coast Mariners. They have a heap of experience and players like Alex Wilkinson who have already lost two Grand Finals. Those defeats will carry a lot of hurt and pain which will drive the Mariners on. Central Coast will want to prove everyone wrong.

“Brisbane is the easy decision but on the day I believe they will win the Grand Final.”

Jacob Burns

“I fancy an upset and feel the Mariners can come through and get a result,” Burns said.

“It-s a tough ask but all the pressure is on Brisbane.

“Everyone expects the Roar to win and I think the occasion could get to them.

“The Mariners put up a good show a few weeks ago against the Roar and they have nothing to lose.

“Both are worthy Grand Final opponents and both deserve they-re spot in the title decider but it-s the Mariners for me.”
