Perth Glory youth are preparing for a tough battle against rivals Adelaide United this Saturday at 6PR stadium.

On the back of a frustrating 0-0 draw against the Newcastle Jets, the young glory side will be fired up for yet another entertaining clash with the Reds.

The two teams have endured some fierce encounters over the past two years, with both sides pulling out all the stops to secure the points.

Their rivalry escalated in last year-s semi final where Perth held Adelaide to a 1-0 win, knocking the Reds out of the finals race and booking themselves a spot in the grand final against Gold Coast United.

Their last meeting was in Adelaide in round 2 and after a tough 90 minutes, Perth left Hindmarsh Stadium victorious, 2-1.

This week, glory youth are looking to get their first home win of the season after a draw and a loss to Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC respectively.

The glory outfit could look a lot different than it has in previous weeks, with Tommy Amphlett, Brent Griffiths and Howie Fondyke all displaying impressive performances with the senior team in Wednesday night-s mid-week clash with Melbourne Heart.

If the budding stars earn themselves a second call up with the first team, Perth-s line-up could be the youngest to hit the park this season.

Perth sits one point ahead of Adelaide on the youth league table, but if previous encounters are anything to go by, this match is set to be a tight tussle.
