Perth Glory-s youth team have moved to third on the ladder and remain unbeaten on the road after collecting a point in a tough match against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.

It was again a solid team effort with the forwards creating several good goal scoring opportunities while the defence blunting an ever dangerous Reds attack.

Glory-s best opportunities of the first half coming via the front pairing of Ryan Pearson and Andrija Jukic, the latter firing just wide of the upright after 30 minutes while Person had his chance a few moments however his shot was directed straight at the Adelaide ‘keeper.

The Armadale youngster having another chance 10 minutes after the restart but his shot flew across the face of goal.

The ever dangerous Anthony Skorich was brought into the fray with half an hour remaining and he immediately made his mark with several quality headers as the visitors continued to press forward in an attempt to break the deadlock.

That task become tougher after midfielder Howard Fondyke picked up his second caution and Perth were forced to play out the final 20 minutes a man short.

“We worked on our defensive shape during the week and they really showed great character when we went down to ten men,” Naven said.

“We said to the boys to go out and express themselves and they-ve played good football and taken risks at the right times and we-re very pleased with all of their efforts,” said Naven.
